There is a thread about 'what you got' and most seems to be good, wish I'd got a future x:confused:

I always seems to get rubbish golf stuff. My wife knows not to buy me golfing kit unless otherwise instructed with a clear spec, but my relatives are different !

Last year I got a ball retriever, this year a leather scorecard holder, a desk top golf game and what can only described as a golf Kagool:D

I don't wanna sound ungrateful..........but I am!! Why bother, all that's missing is a mug full of plastic tees !!

What rubbish kit did you get .... Or is it just me ???:swing:

I kid you not.
Will be interested to see how they go.
Are they built for distance or feel?

I got one of those marks and spencers (think it's from there) range finders...
Never seen it before so I thought it might be like a cheap bushnell or something. I was wrong.
Got it out the box and its basically a telescope with some sort of vertical ruler with yardages at certain points on the lens which tells you have many yards away from the pin you are based on the height of the flag...
Will be amazed if it's in any way accurate.

Did get jpx 825 irons though so I can't complain too much!

The golf balls are obviously from other spherical ball games - football, pool, tennis, baseball and basketball but they clearly then ran out of steam as the last one looks like a ball from rugby or american football - they are oval! At least try for another game played with a spherical ball! What about ping pong, boules, croquet or even quidditch for heaven's sake!

We have a bag full of these type of balls and we use them for the Saturday roll up. Everyone just picks a ball out (there all equally random as the pressie you got) and then we draw them out to decide the pairings. Seems the best use for them

Oh come on slime, you've been around this game long enough to know which ball is which!

Obviously you tee off with the 8 ball as that is solid as a rock and will go mines, use the baseball one when you need to put a bit of curve on the ball then hole out with the basketball one as that is designed to go into circular holes.

Jeez mate, do I have to work it all out for you??

Unlucky mate, got to be one of the worst golfing presents this year :D

We got our new Captain with an exploding one last Sunday. He teed his ball up whilst waiting for the group in front to clear so a couple of others chatted to him whilst another swapped the ball on his tee. He never noticed and took a smack at it - it was very funny to see his reaction when it exploded! We also tried one on the lady captain's drive off - should have broken and revealed a ribbon or something but she didn't hit it hard enough!!
