Stuck in a hotel in Bracknell, have time for a round this evening, where should I head for a good pay and play round?

had a brief look and saw Downshire golf complex but open to suggestions

On a budget or how come you are after a pay and play rather than a normal club? Can't say that I've played any of the p&ps apart from Bird Hills which is decent but probably too far from Bracknell. You can get on Mill Ride for about 20 quid through Teeofftimes last I heard, just be aware of traffic because of Royal Ascot week.

nothing really on a pay and play more along the lines of somewhere where a visitor can get in

Would suggest Mill Ride or Sand Martins in that case, normally Royal Ascot as well but not this week.

Can't say anything about the quality or access at Billingbear which is the other one that is really close

Feel sorry for you. Bracknell's dead mid-week in the evenings. I'm headed over that way tomorrow for a conference. Day-tripping it from Lancaster though which will be fun and games!

Royal Ascot racing was last week so Royal Ascot GC and area not affected by the crowds or traffic anymore. RAGC has a foursomes event shotgun start tonight so closed for visitors so I'd suggest Mill Ride

Dunno why I have my wires crossed being in Holland for the summer, what a massive pain that is every year

Mill Ride via Teeofftimes would be my recommendation.

Downshire ok (back 9 better of 2), but likely to be crammed!

Bit late now but if you are still down tomorrow night West Hill do a twilight rate @ £60 after 3pm.

Bracknell does seem somewhat dead to say the least, currently sat in the rather depressing hotel bar.

Course was good though cheers for the tip

Bracknell has never been exciting. It's going through a massive regeneration and at the moment most eateries and drinking holes are being rebuilt. Wokingham has some decent restaurants and decent pubs and a quick taxi ride from Bracknell
