Rotation Rotation Rotation

When I went for a lesson a couple of months ago I was told that I had very little rotation and my lower half was doing and Elvis impression! (thank you very much!) Both of which the Pro was telling me contributed to my slice.

do you think this is the origin of the phyllis diller quote ' the only reason the pro tells you to keep your head down is so you can't see him laughing'?

I was/am always collapsing the right knee - how does the beach ball thing work?

Basically if you get an inflated beach ball and put it between your knees and swing it will stop the knees collapsin inwards and give a more solid base to turn against. This creates better resistance and a shorter, solid and compact swing which in theory should be longer and more accurate

Hello to you and welcome, now, You say you have had lessons (plural)so as not to learn bad habbits?
Who is teaching you?
Are you taking a full swing with your clubs? (if you are, its my view that as a new player you are already off to a wrong start)

I would love to help you out but your post is a little confusing to me, if you are taking lessons and its a good teacher, stick with them and dont ask others or you could get confused early in your golfing life.

If you havent had lessons dont try to run before you can walk.

Im sorry but I really need more info and clarity in what you have done/are doing to give any positive advice, Im sorry if it appears unhelpful or critical but your post creates it. :D

Hi there,

Not critical at all, i've taken 2 lessons (over about a month and a half) and am now hitting a ball full swing, like i say i've been practicing alot starting at half swing - then full, i'm working on a controlled swing but i still have the temptation to be like zorro on the downswing! Theres a group of us that go so it's not a one on one lesson.

I'm heading up there again today to practice, i want to make the most out of every session so any advice i'll take on board!

thanks again everyone for the warm welcome to the forum.
