My first thread of my own on here, after commenting a handful of times.
This is not a knee jerk reaction to this weeks Masters, but I genuinely think his putting is so much worse than average, or even so much worse than bad.
The sheer number of putts he missed, and continues to miss, whether it be for Birdie, or Par, is appalling. Misses it left a lot it seemed too - not sure if his grip has anything to do with this? Perhaps his left hand is doing too much work with it being lower than the right.
It says a lot about how good he is, or how good the rest of his game is, particularly off the tee and bunker play that he still contests all the top tournaments and is competitive until near the end, because where he is in putting stats it is crazy he is in contention as much as he is.
Does his putting worry anybody else? I would love him to win the Masters one day, but he has to get SO hot with the putter for that to happen I feel, and it will continue to cost him in the future with so many tidy players with the putter. Around Augusta, you can't win without putting well.
