Rory McIlroy

Historically, -12 the lowest winning US Open score (Woods 2000), McIlroy already at -13, just how hard are the USPGA going to try and make this course over the weekend? Think we may be seeing some really smelly pins for the last 2 days

Absolutely gutted I've not been able to see any of this but last time anyone took the US open apart like this was Tiger at pebble beach. I just hope he can hold it together at the weekend. For now, all I can say, in the words of Andy Gray...

Rory McIlroy, take a bow son, take a bow

I don't care what anyone says that is a bad,bad hole.

Caddy should have been screaming right to him,can make 4 from there not from the water,in fact a bogey from right hand side would have been acceptable.

That surely leave a bit of a scare?

short side and a penalty shot, very poor course mgmt for sure, front right shoulve been his target and will leave him something to stew on a bit overnight

I think it's a good thing. He was making it too easy but that double will bite him hard and refocus him for tomorrow. He probably felt infallible up to that point. Be interesting to see how the rest of the field get on today.

Mods can you sticky this thread?

Just what he needs to remind him to focus, focus and focus ...

They said he lined up to the right but I reckon he just tried to take on too much. His confidence was riding high and he thought he could knock it close. Dodger's bang on, the caddy should have had him hit it where Dustin did. He did the twirly club thing when he hit it so he must have thought he' hit a gud'n.

He said after the match that he was trying to out it front right but the grass just tugged his club over, at least it sounds like he was trying to do the right thing.
