Rory is the new Andy Murray

If Thomas Bjorn gave the same reply to the question as Wee Mac would there be as much agnst from the Englanders.
I don't think so.
Rory is not English he is Irish and I immediately saw the humour in his reply.
We all had a good laugh at how upset the Englanders got from Murray's tongue in cheek comment.
There is an old saying 'If you dish it out you have to be prepared to take it'.

Thing is though you do not get English sportsmen saying anyone but Scotland/Ireland etc

You raise a fair point. But there are plenty of home nation fans that get just as irate when their wee nations are the butt of jokes ( generally whenever football is involved). As for Bjorne being asked. He wouldn't be asked for the exact reason you mention. No headline. As for Murray, I thought it was funnier watching him backtrack later when the sponsors clearly pointed out that the market of England would earn more money than the passionate scots.

Quite frankly the Aussies are welcome to him.. and if he plays cricket like he's been playing golf recently he would struggle to get a place in my village team! ;)

He seems to have become a sullen, spoilt little sh*te over the last few years regardless of whether there is a crap journalist in the room, he wins or loses,... The later of which is something hes getting quite used to I suspect. I cant say he's on my favourites list and suggest he needs a good clip round the ear IMO.

What exactly has Mcilroy done wrong to get such critisim ?

Well in my opinion and I have to say I was a fan until recently. He's become everything about golf and the money that comes with it, that I hate.:mmm: I dont necessarily blame him in a way... I suppose its to be expected of him and hes surrounded by people no doubt all pushing him to make it bigger and probably in it for themselves. His attitude with the big corporate deals, adverts, management company issues and blond bimbos on his arm etc has become really poor. Hes seems obnoxious to people a lot more and seems to have forgot about what its all about. He snubs events and demands huge purses whilst in my view doesn't give a lot back. Hes a million miles away from the player he was before the big money came in and again in my opinion wont become a true great until he gets his head straight and feet back on the ground. Thats also what's effecting his game, not club choice or whether he likes England/Australia etc... Just an opinion nothing more......

Snubs games and demands huge purses ?

He gets endorsements - he has done for years - now they are just a bit bigger. And blond bimbos ? Do you mean Wozniacki ?

I don't see what you have seen - have I missed something he has done this year ?

I have seen someone struggle with his game but none of the other stuff mentioned

Some easily offended lads down south it appears - I want my local rivals to lose - that's Dundee United and England.

I don't hate either unlike many fans - just want them to lose.

When it comes to individuals I don't care about nationality - love Poulter at the moment - if he was playing for England in the World Cup last week I'd want him to finish last - just as I wanted guys who I know and like to lose when they were on united's books

Post of the week.

Have you read any of the posts? About 90% of us Englanders of said it's a non-story and recognise it for what it is.

JP5 used Woods to make his point about Sports Stars having watch what they say for fear of saying something out of line and therefore become quite boring and seemingly lacking personality. The reference to Tiger was an example, he could have used any other golfer. The context between his reference and yours, which was clearly a comment of someone who doesn't like Tiger, couldn't have been more different.

Yeah he could of done, but he specifically mentioned Woods. So going by your theory, and I'm not saying JP5 is by the way, a Tiger basher as well? Seems like Rory is getting a lot of bashing on here but your not saying much about that or is it that your a Tigger lover?

Honestly, if you can't tell the difference between JP5s Tiger reference and yours there really is no point continuing with this.

He's Irish, lives in the US and doesn't really have an affiliation with England, his opinion doesn't affect how England play cricket, getting wound up at a 24 year old's opinion on a sport that he doesn't know much about
