Rocketballz - are they all that?

The lofts on the irons are IMO way to strong, but that's what marketing is for ;) Even my Taylor Made burners from 1998 have stronger loft than my mizuno MP-33's...

Just looked this up, the 5 iron is 23 degrees which is less than the 4 iron in my Nike's. Every club is 2 or 3 degrees stronger than mine so if Saint Hacker has gained 20 yards then i reckon this accounts for at least half of it!

Wow, that's 1 deg stronger than an AP2 4i, the 3i is 17.5 degrees - 1.5 degrees stronger than my 5W!

I hit Sundance's 3 wood and it had a stiff shaft and I usually hit regular but the two I caught well did fly. I haven't hit a regular RBZ yet as I'm trying not to get tempted but I'd love to see it on the launch monitor and compare it to my burners

I have searched some of the old threads, and I'm wondering if the rocketballz all they are cracked up to be.

I'm looking at changing my rescues and possibly my 3 wood, as I have lost distance on all my clubs since having lessons. My accuracy has improved, but the gapping at the top of my bag is now worse since the lessons have settled down.

I'm not going to buy into the extra 17 yards hype, but 10 yards would do nicely. As I said I read some of the comments, but as we all know, new clubs always feel better/longer/straighter. However 3 months down the line we are a lot more objective.

Still happy with your lot?

the driver is alright with the correct shaft, i got the the 17 fairaway wood cos the 15 was going as far as the driver, i can hit the 17 220-230 yards, at the moment its a reg shaft but getting a stiff one for it as i have to grip down to control it (bigslice fae bigslice)

It is interesting that there is so much hype about the rbz fairways. This is all technology tm have stolen from Adams, whose hybrids and fairways are at least as good. They have similar slots etc, and similar construction, but without the tm blurb, no one was interested. Suddenly, a lick of white paint, a touch of green highlights, a stupid name, a tm logo, and they are a revolution.

Not convinced.

It's funny you should say that, I spoke to the lad at direct golf today where I may be going and he said the adams are even longer, in his opinion.

Thanks for the advice/comments all.

PS Bigslice - you didn't hit one slice when you beat me, you sod. :)

The 16.5 hybrid goes as far my sumo sq 3 wood off the tee and off the fairway it pitches 10-15 yards further, although that might be because i strike it better though. It feels sooo hot off the clubface when you hit it dead centre.

If they had 'stolen' anything then I'm sure a lawsuit would have resulted pretty quickly ... Of course non came so they couldn't have stolen anything !

.... Of course they now have no reason to worry about that anymore as they have bought Adams as a whole. We can only hope to see even better fairway/hybrids with both names, maybe Adams will finally get consumer recognition in the market.

Just look how many pros without TM deals use TM RBZ and don't get paid for the privilege.

Remember the technology (stolen from adams) is only in the hybrids and fairway woods.

I have the three wood (Play like a 2 iron distance wise) about 210 yards, and the Driver 280 yards..... lovely clubs.... sound great off the bat and superbly easy to hit.

Do it and dont tell the wife!!!

adams promote theirs as going 10 yards further

I have the 3 wood and it goes like a Rocket ball. Long and true off the tee and very good off the deck. Best fairway wood I have used.
