Ever had your golf ball robbed? Today during a competition I had my ball robbed on the 13th (a hole i usually have 3 points on) by a man who has his dog trained to find golf balls. I went on to have 35 points and narrowly lose the competition.

On another day I had my ball robbed by a blackbird who is now gloating over his shiny pro v high in a nest above the course!

Used to play a course on the Wirral that had a resident pair of crows that stole balls all the time.

A guy I played with a couple of weeks ago had his stolen buy someone playing another hole. The guy denied it but we'll all knew he had.My partner ended up having to go back to the tee (par 3) and ended up 1 foot from a 3.

same thing happened last week, partner hit it down the middle and the group in front then appeared out of the trees and proceeded to hit his Teitlest 2 from the middle of the fairway.
When we walked up his Teitlest 2 was just in the rough at the left of the fairway.
As we agreed his was in the middle of the fairway a free drop with no penalty, just make sure that you mark your ball as too many players play the same type of golf ball.
Even when I play with the company logo I still mark it.
Cant say that any outside animal has ever taken a ball of mine.
When I walked with the dog over the course he is not allowed to pick any up from the fairway, he always sits down at the side of them looking at to say leave or heel.

We have ball stealing crows on the first and thirteenth holes. I have seen the same guy have both his drive and approach shot stolen. 2 shots, 2 new balls. How we laughed.

I had an incident on our 5th green about 2 months ago, as i was walking up to the ball, a bull mastif(enormous) came running out of the trees, with it's owner chasing it, and picked up my ball and started to chew on it like it was a gob stopper! pretty scary as the dog was the size of a young horse!
The owner appologised saying it was only a puppy and had come of the leash(Id like to see the size of it when fully grown!)

on annother occasion, I was walking to our 9th green, I had missed the green so I had my sand wedge as well as my putter in my hand, my playing partners were some way back, I noticed a ball about 5 yards from mine, I had a closer look and it was a dirty scuffed range ball (with the red line and range in big letters) you sometime see balls like this about that people have used to practice with, so sand wedge in hand I decide to have a go at clering the really high trees in front of me in to the dense woods, open the face right up and hit the sweetest lofted shot straight up over the tree into the forrest, when I look round another golfer asks me if Id seen his tee shot from the 18th!

If you know this guy "stole" your ball for sure I suggest you take it up with him, if you know what I mean. He wouldn't touch one of mine again.
