Its about this time of the year I sit down get comfy tune into the BBC and enjoy. Not this year, the flowers might look great the divots will get filled in with green soot and the lakes get the old blue dye injection (will look great on that HD thingy). But lets be brutally honest the Masters never was and never will be a tournament for the golfing masses, 'tickets' availability no chance, watch it on TV, then you need to pay the SKY dictator!!!

Thin end of the wedge though I feel and a clear sign of where we will be in a few years.

Please dont mention thin and wedge together :D

I just plain refuse to give that tossbag Murdoch any more money and as Brendy says P2P is free!

Sky give way better coverage, I must confess I really glad its on sky. The coverage on the BBC is really disapointing for the first few days only showing that par 3 hole.

P2P may be free but it's also illegal isn't it...

I think it's a shame that so much of golf is on Sky now. I refuse to subscribe to a service (which is over-priced) and still have to watch adverts. It should be one or the other.
The BBC are capable of good coverage, the Open is a good example.

Funny i thought the Open coverage last year was rubish. Especially on one of the weekend days when they were wastig time interviewing an R&A chap instead of showing the live coverage which had started. Surely they were the host broadcaster. Glad it has gone to SKY now as i was already a member. First kid due end of the year so i wonder if i will beable to afford to keep SKY.

I've got Sky and I like the golf coverage they provide, but the Masters is a bbc event. Feels more like a regular tournament now, and has lost that bit of magic it had for me.

The death of the Masters has been grossly exagerated here. You get what you pay for. For years now the BBC have provided awful coverage of all sport, particularly golf.

Sky's investment is one of the reasons why the sport (and particualrly the European Tour) have thrived over the past few years. Interest in golf is back to a level where it should be an Sky should be complimented for their contribution to that.

Ok, the subscription is unfortunate, but if you want the best coverage, and technology, then you are going to have to pay a bit of cash. I suspect that come Saturday and Sunday, those with Sky will watch their coverage whilst flicking over to the Beeb during the adverts! Doubtless when they do flick over they will be treated to some Aliss potification!

That would be the only reason for watching it on the Beeb. I think the man is a legend !!!

I succumbed last night and got Sky added to my Virgin package - how long I'll keep it is another thing.
I had been trying out 4 or 5 different p2p channels and quite frankly they were all pretty ropey. Unless you stick with the postcard sized format, pixilation is chronic and trying to spot the flight nigh on impossible. On some of them the sound was 'interesting' to say the least - they all had stutters worse than an MG42.

Your right SKY coverage is great, but it cost a fortune. The reason it cost a fortune is to pay for Premier Football, MUFC don't pay old Wayne £200,000 a week, You Do buying Sky!!!!!
