My suggestion is get a shaft fitting instead of a club fitting. If you like your current driver head then get a proper shaft fitting to maximise the current head.

Thats the mistake i made when i went to scott gourlay and i ended up with a head i didn't really like.

Interesting thought Craw

I was always under the impression that the head and the shaft work together? I'm probably wrong though

I'm going for a custom fit soon too, under no obligation to buy anything but will just enjoy having a bash with all the gadgets telling me I am NOT the next Seve Ballesteros...

Goto the fitting, if you gain from it then buy the club if you dont then dont, not a lot lost... pay the fitting cost and walk away knowing you have the best driver for you.... but thats not going to happen...

I would suggest the same a Craw, check out the shafts options and if you like the head you have just chage the shaft.

Its what i did but just used trial and error to find the right shaft.

No brainer. Worst thing that can happen is you come away with your stats and your with has plenty of money left in the bank!

How about you explain that you are happy with the Driver set-up, but would appreciate a series of lessons.

If Driver feels good and is long/straight enough, then don't touch it.

If you go to a fitting, you should always take your current weapon to use as a reference. Shaft fitting might be beneficial - that's what yours is most likely to be about. Fitter should know which head/shaft combos clash/work.

Just go Gareth, you have never done it before and who knows what you will find out!

Could be the Mizzie is your perfect match or another driver/shaft combo will help get your handicap to where it should be.

If you dont go you will regret it and your wife might be upset.

The worst case scenario is you cant get better and you keep the Mizzie with the confidence it is right for you and your swing.

Look forward to the report:thup:
