My cards been cloned or scanned , luckily picked up by the bank as unusual activity ( someone trying to buy £200 worth of fish and chips)

Any suggestions for an RFID card holder or wallet please.

Ta.

Have a look at Code 118. I have one and it is great now I don’t carry cash - although you can tuck an emergency note in the band if you want .

I bought a RossM one. More just for cards really but there is either a band or money clip on the top (you attach either) for a few notes.

Much, much more likely that the card's details were obtained while it was out of your pocket/wallet and you were using it somewhere.
If you've got a smartphone then embedding your credit/debit cards into Apple or Google wallet and leaving the physical cards somewhere safe at home is the most secure option.

Maybe something I should look into.
How secure is all this phone payments stuff , I'm old school , still prefer cash 😂

This is the one I bought.

As far as I'm aware, Apple Pay has no payment limit, which suggests to me that the banks (whose money it is) trust it more than their own cards.
It needs your fingerprint, face or 6-digit PIN every time. I was pretty old skool but figured out how much easier it was pretty quickly.

Phone payments are the safest ones about. Technically safer than cash because if stolen there is a chance of it getting back. Or if someone steals your phone they can't access your money as it's locked away

Unlike a card the phone needs activation to be able to tap

As rich says it's unlimited on the phones where as card is £100 so it shows just how much the banks trust it

One word of caution about relying solely on your phone for payments - was in the supermarket earlier this year and their card system went down. Those of us with cards could go outside to the cash machine and draw cash. Those with just phones were stuffed.

That's a good point. To have got away with a £200 purchase they'd have needed your PIN code. They couldn't get that just from scanning your card; they would also have needed to have recorded you entering your PIN.

I have an Ogon wallet. Neat, compact, does the job. Have a good reputation so hopefully it does protect as it claims.

Saying that, I rarely take it out now. I'm another in the payment by phone camp on the whole now.

Got all my cards in apple wallet on my phone. Used to think it a bit ‘flash’ and not for a grumpy old g , but actually it’s dead easy and seems very secure due to the facial recognition needed every time. Still carry my cards though as not convinced I’ll never need a physical card - worried maybe not all retailers will be able to accept phone contactless - though not found one yet - or my phone will go flat (much more likely)

Twice in the last week my phone did not work for a payment, still need to carry cards I’m afraid.

For years I refused to go Apple Pay but had to break this year due to a card chip failing. It’s the best thing I’ve done, my only concern is my phone going flat … I’d effectively be losing my wallet.

All cards are in android wallet these days. The only physical card I ever use is my golf club members card for the discount at the range.

Apple uses virtual card details too so your actual details are encrypted/not stored anywhere.

I presume Google Is the same.

One of our products at work used Apple Pay on our payment platform and it’s incredibly convoluted to set up and ensure it’s 100% compliant with the payment gateway.

I always used to be very much against it but can’t remember the last time I used a physical card to pay for anything.

Also when things go wrong its better.

Few months back my credit card provider txt me that they were sending me a new card as a precaution

Soon as I got that txt my Google pay account had been switched to the new digital card

Not a single moment of service disruption to myself

Not available in the UK yet on most cars but some do digital tokens on your phone to be able to start the car. Would be great as would use same finger print etc tech

I can open my car with an app which is useful at times when I want to put something in boot on way out (walking) and keys are inside house but to be able to have that all available would be fantastic
