I have started getting into a poor habit with my weight transfer (Which is frustrating as my swing plain / length is spot on at present and this is costing me length if nothing else) and it is verging on being a slight reverse pivot. I decided to look on youtube for some help and found this guy- it made me burst out laughing. http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=qcNc24A7xxk I need to sort out my problem before I get like this guy- any helpful drills/ hints to ensure I don't ?

Cheers

Laugh.....that is the most bizarre thing I've seen.....

As for a good tip? Can't help with any experience....always over-done the move to the right leg. I've been watching myself in the patio doors whilst swinging the speed-stik. I guess the "bump" to the right, the old "two brolley trick" ought to do it if you can't SEE it.

With prolonged use of this technique you will see great reductions.

Reduction in number of balls due to loss.
Reduction in number of games you are able to play as the visits to the doctors and long term spinal injury clinic take up your time.
Reduction in number of friends willing to play with you, either because they cannot stop laughing or crying. :D

I only reverse pivot when my swing is too long. As my left shoulder gets under my chin and beyond the only way it can accomodate the extra distance is for me to lift my head and shift the weight forward. I think I have got the right link to show you what I mean

My advice is to look at the set up. Ensure that you have a good balance with your weight on the balls of your feet (not toes or heels) with a good knee flex and a straight back angle. You should be able to draw a line straight down from your shoulders, through the edge of your knees and down through the balls of your feet. Focus on a good turn without trying to swing too far (picture a 10o'clock swing) and then as you hit through the ball allow the body to turn so that your weight moves across onto the left side and your belt turns towards the target.

I hope this work. If you look at my head against the cars and skyline you will see what I meant in my earlier post.

Here is a picture of the better set up. It is a little flatter than an ideal plane but more compact and better balanced but if you put a straight line down from my shoulder it will run through my knees onto the ball of my foot

Cheers Homer that's very helpful- I will look closely at the set up points you suggested next time I'm out, visual evidence always helps explain things :D

That youtube video is so funny! I'm still confused how that even works???
I have a feeling that its not the guys natural swing but maybe one of those trick shot blokes?
He ends up looking as if he's played the shot as a left hander....the finish suggests he's played the ball right to left
