Their use is a long way down the timeline. Who knows what will happen before then? We might be back in lock down.

I will worry nearer the time.

Doesn't bother me, bunkers not raked and flags in worked fine so happy to carry on. That said, do I think they present a risk then no, and I think there is minimal to no scientific evidence showing high numbers of Covid cases arising from it passing through objects.

The only gripe I had was not being able to smooth the sand with my foot before placing my ball in comps. Our bunkers were never raked so it was always a nightmare to find a spot within 6”. I’ll just be happy to be playing again though.

Obviously made on someone's 3d printer but they work

If people smoothed the sand properly with their foot on the way out the bunker, there wouldn't be a problem...

Which is the problem - they don’t. I’ve put forward to the committee to make mini rakes mandatory to play the course once we open up again, but won’t hold my breath.

Half of golf club members can't rake a bunker properly with full size rake. Waste of time trying to get them to use mini rakes, just get used to the idea of playing out of someone's size 10 footprints.....

We got all our members after lockdown 1 to buy one and visitors had to have at least one per 4 ball. Our version is slightly better than the ones pictured. £10 to buy, £5 to hire - it was some revenue for the Pro after the difficult lockdown period. They work really well and some would not like us to put the normal rakes back when allowed as the personal ones are handy and effective and you don’t have the issues with in or out of the bunker etc, with normal rakes. It feels more like normal golf when everyone is raking bunkers.

TBH the whole way golf has been handled through the whole of the last few months doesn't make much sense.

well known that out door exercise was OK yet no golf in England and Wales, yet us in Scotland could play in two balls. now E&W are going straight back in 4 balls and Scotland staying as two's, as i said it doesn't make much sense

Should have been flags in, two balls only etc, as we had coming out the first lockdown. Give it 5 weeks and then ease to four balls.

It wasn’t hard but EG have seemed to be very keen to get things back to normal. I guess it is their job but it’s been a little cringy at times as the seemed too keen.

I’m all for a slight more conservative staged return but let’s hope we can all come together, socialise responsibly and make it work right from the get go on the 29th.

It's not a case of golf England tho is it

Rule out 6 outdoors has returned .. so why wouldn't 4 balls? People won't get close together except on tee and greens

Clubs can't afford to do 2 balls so will do 4

If a club wants to do 2 ball there is litterally nothing stopping it

For raking, I've been using one of these for ages. Very light, doesn't take up much space and, for me, easier than the clip-on ones.

I don't like putting with the flag in but accept it has to be done for safety of me and my family.

No it should be 2 balls now, in line with government guidance (ok to go for a walk outdoors with one other person outside your household). And then 4 balls from 29 March.

Yep, should have had a single UK approach to most things... our nearest town straddles the Border so all sorts of confusion for Chepstow folk! As for Wales, we won't know anything about golf until next statement on 19th. No idea of date back, when back, no idea of what format can be played. Clarity would be appreciated at some point. :)
