Restore colour to old photos

I've got some old photos that have faded in the sun, and I'd like to restore the colour to them, and perhaps even colourise some old black and white photos.
Has anyone done this, and if so what software would you recommend.
Windows preferably but I can also do Android.
Any help greatly appreciated.

Can't you just send it to an AI and tell it colourise the photo. Alternatively, an old school mate does photo restorations profesionally.

Thanks. I was looking for suitable software so I could scan the photo and do it myself.
