Restaurant recommendations London

I Seen a thread the other day on the forum someone was asking about london hotels and seen it got a lot of replies. I am going to London start of October for my wife's birthday and i am looking for recommendations for an indian, chinese and steak house please ?
Last visit we went to dishoom, benares and hakkasan. We Loved them all but would like to try different and possibly better ?
Depends on where you go in London... tons of option.
Steak... Gaucho's as a chain cant go wrong. A few of them around. If you budget stretches, then, Paternoster chop house near St Pauls. I am sure there are others.
Indian... Dishooom as chain. Now Masala Zone as a chain is pretty decent. Lots of good authentic Indian (as against just a curry house), e.g. Darjeeling express, Tamarind, Benaras etc.
Chinese.. Kung Fu noodle on Shaftsbury is fab and very affordable and you can see your noodles being made. (not chinese but) highly recommend Shoryu Ramen, the Regent Street one is brilliant

In london, you are spoilt for choices..

As the OP posted this in 2021, I suspect he may have eaten by now (or he is very hungry) :ROFLMAO:

Has anyone tried Big Easy in Covent Garden. Heading into town this Friday and fancy going some where different, Mrs M wants to pop to Covent Garden for the Christmas market so I figured might as well eat there to and seen this place but don’t have any experience of it myself.

No, but can recommend Ave Mario in Covent Garden.

lunch deal at Hawksmoor is amazing value - similar at The Devonshire

Hawksmoor is lovely, not tried the Devonshire but we’re going more early evening for food after trip to Oxford St so lunch is a no go. Good suggestion though.

If you are going anywhere near Covent Garden when the Christmas Market is on, then I would recommend booking now so you can actually get in 😀
Just booked it it for 4pm, get some decent grub then I won’t be so miserable being dragged around the Christmas market afterwards 🤣

Hawksmore is good.

Earlier this week went to High Timber for some steak and wine after work. It is on the river near Blackfriar station/St Paul. It is South African and fairly decent. Only other SA theme I have been to is Vivat Baccus towards Farringdon.
Lovely SA red, but only downside was they had run out of Windhoek.

Off to Gloria for team lunch - not been before but if the pizzas look like the picture that could be a winner!

Cannot afford any meal in London, last trip it was crazy prices in the local pub in Sussex, Hampshire and Nottingham for starters.
Where are you eating in those places that you can’t afford to eat out. There’s loads of reasonably priced places in London, Certainly loads of well budgets in Hampshire as well, as long as you’re not eating in Michelin star places there bargains to be had everywhere.

Ive been to the Bluewater one.
Food is ok, pleasant enough. Myeldest dau's hubby and her love it there. I suppose it depends on what you want food wise. I personally don't like the industrial setting fit out, but thats just me :)

To be fair that’s pretty much what we’re after nothing overly fancy, for a long day in town and just want something substantial and warming. 😊
