I am sure someone with more expertise than me will be along shortly but I had an Indian in Fleet st last year which was decent.
One thing I would check is wherever you book if they serve alcohol (if you like a drink with your meal) a lot don’t but will give you vouchers for the off licence up the road

East London has many excellent Indians, just as China Town has some excellent Chinese. Sorry but I cant help more than that

Worked around there for many years. Lahore Kebab House was legendary (not to be confused with the nearby Lahore One) but I wouldn't go there for a fancy meal. It's more of a night out with the lads place when you've already had many pints.
I always found Tayyabs a bit meh; trendy but nothing special.
Probably best not referring to either as Indian though.

Lahores is exceptional but I’d do that with the boys!!
But if you’re looking for a real treat where you can get loads for your money at a really good price and the quality is top notch in fact recommended in the Michelin Guide. I’d highly recommend a trip to Covent Garden and eating in Dishoom. You can just rock up and eat but I’d recommend booking.
We go there most times we visit London which is often! The quality is unreal and the prices are ridiculous especially for London, took Mrs M, my oldest daughter and her husband there couple of months back and I only paid £150 for all of us and we had a shed load of food
Never been to Dishoom in London but the Edinburgh one was amazing, so I’d highly recommend it on that, the lamb main was A1

Dishoom Covent Garden was really good but very very intensely spiced, almost too much for my delicate palate

You must have a seriously delicate pallet as my Mrs can’t stand any spice but loves Dishoom as so many dishes are flavour over spice/heatDishoom Covent Garden was really good but very very intensely spiced, almost too much for my delicate palate
