24 handicap, limited resources as blown budget on Ping 15 driver and 5 wood, happy to buy secondhand and dont need a full set only use 6 (not essential)/7/8/9/PW.. Have looked on e-bay and its a mindfield .. what clubs would people recommend in that budget area

You can probably pick up a set of Wilson Staff Di7 or Di9 for around that price. From what I have heard they are good irons for higher handicappers.

I'm sure with £150 you can find a half decent second hand set eith 4 or 5-PW/SW just keep an eye out on here and other places online.

I know direct-golf.co.uk have a second hand section on their website. Might be worth a look.

Easy. A set or even 5, Callaway X-16 or 18.

You might find some old Pings, except they hold their value a bit too well.

I do believe these may be absolutely perfect for you, condition regarded as 8's across the board meaning they will be nigh on immaculate going on previous golfbidder tradings, 6 to PW, within budget....happy days!!

Mizuno MX100's are immensely forgiving for the higher handicaps too.

If anyone can find you a better deal i'll be amazed!

whilst the mx100 is a good club and probably a suitable match, I can't help feeling that having only the 5 irons is a step to far.

5-PW is fine, probably great, but mising the 5 iron is likely to become an issue for most (ladies and vets excepted)

Hey .. I have a set of Callaway Big Berthas 4-SW (8 irons in total) - 2006 model

They are about 4 years old, bought from AG by my wife when i first took up the game, and up until last week were my playing set.

The 4 iron has only ever been hit at the range and is like new, the others do show some wear, as you would expect from clubs that are 4 years old, and i would suggest they are probably 6/10, the grips are still great imo, and probably are 6.5 or 7/10. Shafts are perfect, no issues there.

£ 130 + postage for a fellow forum member :)

Happy to take some pics and email them to you if you want. No problem if not interested :)

I bought a brand new set of Di7s from AG for £170 last year but unless you really want some brand new, game improvement clubs, I would buy second hand.

The fat shafts and chunky cavity backs on the Di7s get on my nerves now.

Folks, whilst it is good that fellow forumers are offering good deals, this is "the lounge" and not the "for sale/wanted" section. I you have clubs you are looking to sell please use the appropriate section of the forum or conduct your business through pm. Ta muchly.

I would also add the Wilson Di7 to the list, excellent set, better than most game improvement irons and good prices can be found

MD Golf will also be worth looking as will Benross offering decent mid priced irons

My Srixon i601 set will be available soon, for a lot less than your budget. Served me well and good set of game improvement clubs with plenty of forgiveness. They will be in the for sale section in the next week or so.

I just picked up a set of dci's for £40 3-pw ! Probs not what you're after though as they are an unforgiving club. You could probs pick up a set of mp 57's/52's for around £150 though
