Renfrewshire Area golf courses

Don't think you need to go too far Stevie, Caldwell just up the road from you, i hear they are doing a deal just now, £1000 from now until March 2013. Otherwise you're heading into Glasgow area. A lot of guys on here with good playing knowledge, they'll be along soon.

Abit steep for me.
Played Cowglen and Pollock a few years back, if memory serves both good tracks.

Irvine GC £600 to join £850 per year this is my club. There have been a few guy's who have joined lately from your area it is only 25 mins from Johnstone. The muni courses at Troon are 20 mins on the train and 30 mins by car. If you have never played Bogside and want a game to see the course get in touch. Or if I can be of any help if I remember you are at Fereneze ask Scott he used to work at Irvine.

Bogside is a good track, craw has been looking at West Kilbride but it appears to be on the steep side. Being that clause to the coast for me it would have to be links.

Cochrane Castle, Ralston, Kilmacolm, Elderslie - all possibilities

Cochrane - crap
Ralston - Barshaw with bunkers, boring.
Kilmacolm - would be my choice out of these.
Elderslie - some decent holes but runs alongside Foxbar.

Old Ranfurly - very friendly place and your welcome to a knock if you like Stevie.
Ranfurly Castle - better lay out if you can stand the snootyness and high fees.
Lochwinnoch - best greens in Renfrewshire but built on the side of a hill.
Caldwell - I like but I also believe its very busy.
Paisley - good track but also busy especially in the mornings.
Erskine - another place thats decent apart from that 1st. Nice track.

I'd plump for Kilmacolm then Old Ran or Erskine.

I had a walk round my old stomping ground of East Renfrewshire a couple months back. I didn't play but it looked in good nick and it was a great track when I was a member - but that was more than 25yrs ago when the trees that are now mature were only starting to be planted - so no idea what it plays like these days. I'm going up to my folks place early November and hoping for a knock.

But I'm sure that you will know whether or not ER is the sort of place you are looking for (unless that is where you already are - being from just around the corner from ER as you are)

Thanks all for suggestions of courses few that take my fancy in Irivne, West Kilbride and Kilmacolm

Just need to find out fees and what they are like before pick one

Im certain that if it were a choice of that 3, Crawford would go West Kilbride the Bogside. Links is your best bet out there.
