Can anyone recommend some waterproof trousers. I'm looking for decent comfort and can be worn by themselves rather than on top of trousers. Also can they be machined washed (Unlikely I know)

Thanks

Depends on your budget.
I personally wear ProQuip Hydratech Waterproof trousers. They are around £50 and are worth it. You can however pay alot more

Hi,i have mizuno impermalites, great waterproofs got mine for £10 on a sale rail at my pro shop they had the wrong price on,bargain of the year but i would be happy to pay the £60-£70 they usually sell for.

Another vote for proquip. I got a whole suit for about £100 and its been great. I have on older set of Proquip which I use to practice and wash the trousers through the machine with no detergent just to get the mud off and the are still pretty waterproof given they are about 10 years old

I've got a set of ProQuip and Galvin Green. The ProQuip set is fine but the Galvin Green one is excellent. Really comfortable, utterly and totally waterproof and you hardly notice it when swinging so Galvin Green gets my vote.

They ain't cheap but value for money, IMHO. Although, they are "cheaper" at plenty of places online - which makes them expensive rather than ridiculous.

Waterproof trousers are waterproof trousers, Ping, Sunice, Footjoy, Cross, Sunderland, ProQuip, Underarmour, GG, whatever they will all do the job.

I have two pairs of Proquip Hydratech as well, comfy and lined so you can wear them with or without trousers. Jacket sleeves to short for me or I would have been wearing a Proquip suit.

GG for me but hidiously expensive at times but decent deals can be found if you look hard enough. Ebay can be a good starting place. If you buy from a recognised Pro shop on there you will be fine. I saved £90 on a GG Argus model jacket. Cross waterproofs are also decent as are Proquip and Mizuno. Callaway do a good Goretex range as well

GG trousers might be ok, but at £150 I will never know. I have a pair of Sunderland Goretex, and they are fine.

GG jackets are too short in the body. Built for short fat midgets. No good for me.

Galvin Green every time - trousers & jacket. Pricey but worth it. Jacket fits this short fat midget just fine thanks.

GG & Cross...both superb.... GG edges it as the water just rolls off. Cross also keeps me bone dry, but the top soaks up the water on the outside and can get a bit heavy.

GG is reasonably priced if you shop around. Got an Ashford jacket for £140 & Alf trousers for £130 in the sales. I expect to get at least 10 years out of them and not just on the golf course.

In Debenhams a nice pair of Teflon Chinos in the 70% off rack set me back £10.80 the other day.

Haven't tried them out yet, but if they don't work for golf, I'll use them for frying eggs.

Galvin Green without a doubt is the way forward. A bit on the expensive side maybe, but well worth it. Not only waterproof, but warm too!

how about FJoy trousers very good lightweight not to expensive and very durable i had mine 2 years and thats all i wear during the winter!! Best bit of kit i ever brought
