Recommend a course in Edinburgh

I was a member at Mortonhall and so having played it loads of times, i prefer to be invited to Duddingston.
I agree with Dalmahoy comments, really I do not get the appeal at all, i think it is pretty bleak and you expect a lot the first time you go

Merchants of Edinburgh is a quirky little course with some great views on certain holes.

Great choice. Let me know your thoughts on both duddingston and Aberdour.

Will do, probebly play Duddingston mid week on my own, and my guests are coming Thursday so will try to book Aberdour next Friday, and Duddingstone and Prestonfield Saturday and Sunday.

Do you know if there are any comps. at Duddingstonon Saturday /Sunday.?

You'll enjoy Aberdour, we go there for work outings quite often. Excellent fish and chips in the clubhouse too !

Quirky, you can easily be in the Forth playing 1st 2nd and 3rd holes , but not when you play the fourth

The Glen in North Berwick would be my choice,beautiful course,friendly people and the food in the clubhouse is great.

The Merchants is not a full size golf course, its ok for beginners and ladies

I have never played there, so can't recommend it, but I have seen it from the tram and it looks really good.

I think I would quite safely place it bottom. Even port royal was better!

I get the impression you guys don't like it! I have only seen it through the tram window on my way to work and I was thinking of bringing my sticks up next time and having a walk round. I think the location is great and I am still amazed to see golf courses within the city boundaries in Edinburgh. What's Liberton like?

Liberton is a short, tight course generally in great condition and with good greens.
