Morning all
hope you (were) enjoying the action from Wales! I was in the stand behind the 1st at 7.15. It was a fantastic atmosphere - hope that came across on TV. I manged an hour or so out there before having to wave the white flag and head back into the media centre to dry off and have a coffee.
Lets hope the rain blows through sooner rather than later

Where is the usual GM comps this week?

Come on there is nothing else for me to do at the moment,may has well have a comp to master! ;)
 
I gave away a couple of GM umbrellas to two of the Irish writers who could only be described as ill prepared for the conditions!
 
Been "watching" on the BBC live text updates where they annoyingly keep saying ".... has chipped in..... and it's rolled up to 4 feet". Also, much confusion about what preferred lies is. You really wonder if the guy doing the reporting has actually played golf that much.
 
Guy on the TV for BBC this morning got totally confused with Foursomes, Fourballs and Greensomes (!). Do your reseacrh man, and don't give Sky more ammunition!! :mad:
 
Sky don't need any more ammunition. They just do it better than the beeb. End of. All pros commenting. Just get a subscription.

Word on the ground is that the course is done and they have decided upon a drinking competition to decide the winners.

I fancy the Europeans to triumph with Westwood,Kaymer,Hanson and Jiminez leading the charge and only Dustin Johnson being able to keep up. :D
 
This is exactly the reason that Celtic Manor should never have been awarded the Ryder Cup. Its a swamp land that cant handle the rain it never could and its clear that it still cant!

Some land drains naturally some doesn't and no matter how much money you spend on drainage and how much drainage you put it once the land is saturated it can only do one thing and that's come back up the way and flood. There is also no where for that water now to go.

The European Tour need to take a long hard look at themselves as this was always a risk and its clear that Wales and Sir Terry's bid stinks of a back hander to win the Ryder Cup. Wales bid was nowhere to suddenly being top of the pile! This Ryder Cup was destined for Turnberry (possibly Loch Lomond) where no matter how much rain the course would still have been playable.

Looking at the forecast, this looks as though it could be binned due to an unplayable marshland!

Without notable piss artist Anthony Kim they're screwed. Word on the street is that his 'thumb injury' was actually a callous caused by the way he holds his tankard.
 
How funny was it yesterday watching the couples go for dinner... Except TW who walked alone, I felt quite bad for him, I wonder if he had a single table and a single room?

COME ON EUROPE!!!

Maybe we should club together and get the Yanks some of the plastic waterproofs, the ones that make you sweat like a fat person in a cake shop?
