Well wot a waste of time that was last nite and I was The 1 of many saying this is there best chance!!
Time now for these players to stop thinking they are untouchable and start playing basic football and to stop stupid comments from past greats of football saying we are nothing!!
Team selection is wrong!! Joe Cole for Barry[wot a waste he was] Lennon was shite,trying to cut in side every time when he is meant to be a wide player[can u just remind me why he did not take Walcott]
The gaps between are own players last nite was so big and the passing was negative and always behind the player!!
No closing down like in the USA game and Heskey looked like a different player last nite!!
And 1 more thing Rooney!! Well enough said just from he comments as he walked off i quota "Nice to see your home fans boo.Thats what loyal support is" I think Rooney is class and its good for him to track back and win the ball,but do u think he is 33% fitter than when he was playing for UTD this season because playing at that attitude you have 33% less oxygen going into your system so have to be much fitter and tracking back and looking for the ball will start to punish you physical and it definitely affected Rooney's game and when he needed to be up front he was left lagging behind!! So to sum up ....
1st Team selection is a Deffo[Cole on for Barry]
2nd player positions needs to be looked at stevie g back in the middle
3rd Gaps between players not so big
4th more pressing the ball and rooney not to run his self ragged to early into the game
5th AND BLOODY WIN not just a win a solid 1

To be fair, I don't think what you quoted was defending Rooney. That's how I read it anyway.

It wasn't at altitude, the Capetown stadium is very nearly in the sea it is so at sea level, so that's no excuse. I 'm glad I'm at work for the next game.
