Night ruined I packed my gear up leaving the last dozen or so ball and came home!
Doesn't sound ruined - sounds like a right laugh!
Perhaps you should learn to hit your driver longer,,,

A few weeks back, I was at the range in my lunch hour.
Set up in a bay, with 2 lads in the adjoining 2 bays. Set my bag down and proceeded to get my balls from the machine (Situated behind).
The lad in the bay next to me was giving (Loudly) advice to his friend on his swing. Stood directly behind him, talking him through the swing and what he should be doing and feeling.
Taking no notice I pull a club from my bag and proceed to hit a few balls. The chap then says to his mate.
"See I told you I'd get you hitting your 7 iron further. You hitting it nearly as far as this chaps (....meaning me) 7 iron"
To which my reply was.
"I wouldn't take his advise bud........ I'm hitting a pitching wedge"

Wow, you lot have seen some prize planks at the range!
Got nothing on these but the 3 that stick out to me:
1) a girl of about 7 or 8 years old and her little brother. Obviously left to hit some balls by their father who was nowhere to be seen. Had run out of balls and kept running out to retrieve balls. I told her she should stop because she could get hurt. She ignored me and even ran out next to my bay whilst I was mid downswing on my driver. I packed up and went home rather than risk taking her head off.
2) hitting a few balls, kind of in the zone, work up to my driver. Hitting it pretty well, for me, they were going straight on this occasion. Using a ping g20 that is mega loud in an enclosed range. Look up and there is a couple of lads stood there watching me. One of them had a camera ad appeared to be filming my swing. I've no idea how long they had been there. One of them just said "nice" and nodded, then they wandered off. That was a very wierd experience, and clearly they must know nothing about golf to call my swing "nice".
3) older gentlemen with a full on trackman system and laptop in a metal briefcase, all set up in the bay for his practice session. He looked a knob but to be honest I was a little envious.
Obviously you always get a few chimps making a load of noise and skying their driver into the roof of the bay, generally they are easy to ignore.
