Hi Guys and Gals,

Just wondering are range finders worth getting? I am looking at a digital range finder with 7x zoom. I cannot afford a GPS range finder for now.

I have looked on ebay and found the following. What do you think?

Ebay Link

Also could you recommend any.

Thanks,

Dave

Virtually useless if it is meant to give a distance based on lining up the top and bottom of the flag stick.

Judging by it's price, it's not exactly a scientific instrument. Putting that aside ....

A) Not all flag sticks are the same length

B) The part of the flagstick level with the edge of the cup is often not visible or cannot be accurately judged especially from some distance away

C) You have to be able to see the pin

D) Proper rangefinders and GPS units (Bushnell, Nikon, Skycaddie, etc, etc) are 50/100 times as expensive for a reason.
