Does any one on here suffer Rabbit damage on their course...stating the obvious i know to exterminate the little blighters, but does anyone have any novel ideas how their course goes about it...allegedly these things have to be done humanely these days

rifles, shotguns, air rifles, ferrets, dogs, phostoxin, snaring, cymag, flooding, falconry, excavation..... you choose!

Ask a local farmer to come to the course at night and let them hunt them down. Tell them they can keep whatever they catch and this way the club wont have to pay someone to do it and the farmer has somewhere to shoot :).

i was into air rifles and phoned a few courses up that i knew had problems not one of them wanted me to do it and it was free

I would imagine, being a farmer, he has somewhere to shoot already...................

yes farmers are not interested in shooting rabbits takes too much of there time up they like to get people like me free of charge

one beautiful summers evening when the greenkeeper wondered out the gorse, air rifle in hand and about 10 rabbits strung together over his shoulder.

He without battering an eye lid said "would you like a few, good eating on a few of these!"

I told him to enjoy his meal!

We got rid of a lot of old gorse off the course, which attracts the rabbits. Don't seen to have the problem any more, although it didn't get rid of the badgers and moles. :(

The TB cull will do for the badgers, which will just leave the moles.

We have a few wannabe snipers who come up after hours in full camouflage gear, I've had the pleasure of watching them work whilst out walking the dog and to say I'm impressed is the biggest over statement ever made. i watched them take aim from approx 20 yards away on an elevated tee box and fire off about 40 rounds of the air rifle and the rabbits didn't even move. I've actually got a better strike rate throwing a golf ball after "The incident" a few years back
