Was in AG in Camberley this afternoon and happened to be there when the TM rep was in. I've seen the new R9 and the TP version and they do look a decent club. To be honest the standard version looks pretty good and much thinner topline than even my tour burners. The TP version has a much smaller head and heavier shaft. I was hitting the standard version pretty well and getting a good distance (on a monitor admittedly). AG in Camberley have a set on the shelf for sale but others have said not available until October 12th.

They are pretty forgiving and come in 4-SW. The longer irons (4-6) are designed in a similar way to their fairway woods and aimed at getting the ball up and with maximum forgiveness. I didn't hit more than a 7 iron so can't comment but they certainly feel good. The regular shaft is around 95g (steel) and the TP version around 114g. Iwas using a regular shaft.

I have to be honest I wasn't fussed when I saw them in the mag this month but they do look better in real life. The TP head is an old fashioned small head and although TM boast they are a very forgiving "better player" club I think they are one that you need to middle. At least with the TP's you got away with it a bit. I'd need to hit it to be sure though. The standard R9 is very good off the face.

Ugly. Just plain ugly mate. So far this year only Titleist have produced some good looking clubs, and they were the blades I would not be able to hit.

Homer, why are you looking for new irons? you seem to be permanently looking to change kit, which from my experience is not the way to a lower handicap. Mind you, Birdieman might say different, but I would think he is an exception.

Cavity backs are never going to give great feed back. That is the nature of the beast.
Anyway, isn't it more important to get them flying consistently, and well, rather than chasing feedback? If you want feedback, nothing is going to give it like blades. However, players cavities like the TP forged come close, but when ever you try these, you aren't good enough to hit them.

Ever thought that what you are looking for doesn't (and will never) exist?
