Chaps. Got a R11 tp and feel I need a fitting for the shaft. It's just not gelling with me.
Any recommendations for fitting in the Surrey are to try different shafts out?

Precision golf in Egham have many, many shafts available. They'll do you a perfect fit but you'll pay a bit more than other shop fits.

The shaft line up with TM clubs illustrates one of the problems for the 'off the shelf' buyer. The standard R11 driver comes with a Fujikura Blur 60g shaft. The stock TP shaft is a Fujikura Blur 65. So, on the face of it, the only difference is a 5g weight difference, right? Wrong, these are basically completely different shafts. The 65g is a 'real' Blur, the 60g a 'made for' version, i.e. a cheaper shaft branded as a Blur. If you look at the Fujikura website you will not see the specs for it.

So people play the standard R11, think it feels OK, see a TP on ebay or in the proshop, think that 5g shaft weight won't make a difference, go for it, then can't hit it.

Not saying that is what happened with the OP, but it certainly happens quite a lot.

I'd strongly advise getting the correct shaft for the TP version.A mate of mine has been having a nightmare trying to hit his and he's a very competent golfer and strong ball striker. He's on his 3rd shaft now and is still unable to get the driver to behave.

I use the Tp Matrix Hd-6 shaft in mine and it's soooo much better that the blur, that was on the recomendation of my mate who's a pro. It wasn't rocket science as I already had the same shaft in my R9 previous.

Just ordered a UST Mamiya Proforce axivcore red shaft for my 3 wood so interesting to see how that performs in comparison with the blur.

after spending a day with a "golf club fitter" I would recommend you visit a real fitter. Their is a serious difference in manufacturers branded shafts. He demonstrated 4 shafts from a top manufacturer and the difference was from standard to slow. So for the sake of a fitting and a couple of hundred quid go independent.

Cheers chaps. Yes it's the tp Fuji blur shaft 65g and I just cant get any whip snap. It feels so dead ineffective in comparison to my re-ax stiff in my Burner.

Blur has not been a success in the R11, a lot of people didn't like either version of it, and they've ditched it for the R11S.

My suggestion is the underrated Motore F3. Nice mid launch, mid spin shaft with good feel.

One of the 'benefits' of the R11 system is the simplicity of shaft replacement.

Plenty of shafts on Ebay with R11 adapters, so nowhere near the 'usual' potentilly costly exercise of testing then fitting shafts and hoping they match. You can dabble a bit for little cost. Pays to check that it has the adapter though! And the ones that don't work can go on Ebay to recoup some of the cost.

And if you have a favourite shaft already, there are adapters that can convert a pull too.
