In the spirit of the masters I have now AGAIN decided to get back into golf! After a knee injury at the ripe old age of 21, I had to stop for a while and have no decided it is time to get back into the swing of things (tumbleweed). I will be posting a lot on here as I am in the quest to sort out a new set of clubs so will be looking for advice as I just hit the things and ask questions later!

I am also looking to join a course in Bristol too! So any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers!

welcome

like you many years ago i ruined one of my knees at 21 and kept me out of the game for far too long. still have to make some allowances for it but glad of the times i get on the course :)

If you want a fairly easy course to practice on around Bristol, try Woodlands-by M4/M5 junction. Fairly open and not too long, but beware of the island green par 3 17th! Only £15 for the signature course and good for beginners, lower handicaps might find it too easy though

Hi mate,

I'm in Bristol and a member at filton golf club for the last year and a half. It's a good friendly club and convenient if you live anywhere north of the centre.
Would be happy to sign you in for a round as a guest some time to try it out if you like.

If you are looking for clubs I have a few decent clubs kicking about that the missus has been on at me to shift, pm me if you have any interest.

Cheers
Stu

Stuey,

I have been looking at Filton! Might check it out! I am sorting my clubs out down at Nicky Lumbs, great service, I am going to the range tonight down there actually.

Stuey, ill pm you,

Thanks for the welcomes guys!

I get down to Nicky Lumbs quite a bit, been having lessons there with Giuseppe.

You should check out inplay golf, it's an indoor simulator place on the harbourside. Quality place.

As I said, PM me if you fancy a round at Filton. I can also put you in contact with the relevant people at the club if you're interested in membership and i'll try to answer any questions you may have about the club, from a common or garden member POV.
When I was thinking about joining the chairman (nice guy) took me and another prospective member out for a free round, we both joined. I think he still likes to do that.

Im buying my irons from Gisueppe! Great guy, yeah ill hook up with you for a round, really working on the swing for a while before I contemplate a course!
