I have a Ping G10 Draw Driver. It's 9 degrees and I have the Grafalloy Red Shaft(Stiff) on it.I got custom fitted for this club

The Grafalloy Red is one of three shaft options Ping offer on their woods *, the other being the V2 High Launch(It does what it says on the tin), and the Ping TCF 129 which kind of gives the best of both worlds.

The one I have is aimed at people who hit the ball high(me) in order for them to get the best trajectory.

Today I lost six balls with a destructive hook/pull (this has happened to me a few times)and I cannot afford to do this with my 6 handicap.I don't mind missing the odd fairway but this is costing me sleep.

My question is - Should I change to one of the other shafts and stick with the stiff or have the same shaft with a regular flex?

Is it the shaft that is causing the hook though? I went through a stage of hooking it with my Driver and was unsure whether it was because it was a draw driver and this was turning what would have been a draw into a hook or whether it was the shaft but I got a lesson and it was a fundamental swing flaw that had crept in undetected. If you bought it custom fitted I presume you were happy with the results on the range during testing- meaning that you know you can hit this club in this specification very well- so therefore unless you have picked up an injury or something which has majorly affected the club head speed you can generate it will be because you are doing something wrong in your swing not because of the shaft or indeed the club itself. See a pro and he will put you right about what error you are making, on indeed tell you if he thinks the shaft is wrong for you which I do highly doubt as it won't suddenly become unusable for you overnight. If it gave you good results once it will give you them again if you put the same swing on it. I would persevere with it rather than look for a quick fix in the form of a new club.

I could be wrong.....but from what I have picked up, if you have a sound swing, then freaky pulls (or closed face) are more common with too much flex (not stiff enough) and pushes (or open face) from too stiff a shaft.
Certainly seems likely to me, TonyN and I have both had some inexplicable pushes with over-stiff shafted clubs.

I know you are looking at the shaft, but assuming its not your swing have you considered the clubhead?

You have a draw model, which means the clubface is slightly closed. This will exagerate any slight hook\pull tendancies in your swing.
