Can a few of you keep me right on what I think of as the order of quality in the sets/makes of golf balls I have.

Bay Hill Palmer (orange for fading light/snow-frost)
Dunlop-3 sets-Extreme,Quadra Link & Top Shelf.
Wilson-Ultra
Srixon-AD133. I suspect the Dunlops are classed as 'shyte' and I am currently using these in the winter.
The Srixon & Wilson were more expensive so must be better quality?

what about for total beginners who are going to lose a few every round, is there any 'budget' balls that do the job with minimum compromise?

(sorry to hijack thread)

Yes, Precept (Bridgstone) EV Spin. Superb value for money, £15 quid for 15 at AG, and Nick Price won 2 majors with them. Been away for years but have recently come back on sale.

Despite the name they are quite good for distance , I still carry them as my second ball - upgraded to Pro V1 now.

Try them you've got nothing to lose. :D
