PXG are coming to my club soon (don't know the date yet).

Anyone tried them, or, currently use them?

I'm very happy with my irons and wedges, and will be off to St Ives on Tuesday for a driver and 3 wood fitting, but I am intrigued as to how the PXGs perform.

Question is, could I afford one or two of their clubs (perhaps if I have to ask the answer is no!)?

The woods don't have the best reviews apparently. The irons and wedges are supposedly very good, but Nick Hibbs down at TourX was saying the woods aren't quite there yet. Good luck with the fitting, but doubt they'll give you the performance you're looking for, especially for £700

I hit a 6 iron when testing new shafts for my clubs and my only comment was that it felt ok - but made a strange noise. Not like that awful Nike Swoosh they launched when starting out but different to anything else I have used.

Expect you would get used to it - not sure you can even get a half set of PXG irons for £700.

I've hit demo PXG irons when at last fitting
Feel great.....as they should
At £325 per iron.....!!!

If you've got the money
Then why not
Not hurting anybody
But yet to see any locally in a bag
Out of reach for your average club golfer

Guy I play with regularly has pretty much a full PXG bag. Hits them great, they look superb, and they perform well.

If you can, why not?!

No problems with the "if you can afford it, do it" stance but I'm firmly in the " if you can't afford it, don't" corner.
Much as it would be nice to see how good, bad or indifferent they are, at the price they want for them there's no way I'm even going to think about the possibility of buying some so i don't want to try them in case i really do like them - then I'll be selling my soul to get a set...
If the itch ain't there you won't scratch it....

Very true. Like coveting a set of Miaura (?) or those other prestigious and exclusive forged makes. I could get a set if I put us into hock to do so, and where's the logic in that. They or indeed these PXG wont stop me being average at best, crap when I don't get it right (like today)
