Putting up the Christmas tree

Our black labrador accidentally knocked our tree down on top of himself last year. [after Christmas]
Quite hilarious result.
Funny for us because, even though he is big and daft, he never causes any problems in the house.

Only ever put the tree up together twice. I don't do colour matching and balancing the baubles... HID now does it when I'm not there.

To solve the tree lights problem buy an optical lights tree. They are so much better. Our's is over 10 years old and going strong !!!

Caused a massive argument with HID last night as apparently putting up the tree is a special occasion for her. I dont get it.

Last Friday I drove to forest, cut the tree, dragged it out of the woods and tied it to the roof bars, took it home and fitted it into the stand with some light chainsaw trimming of stem, then dragged it into the house, made sure it was not leaning and then did the obligatory retrieval from attic of 4 or 5 boxes of Xmas tat. I tested lights and as they worked first time I did wind them round and round the tree and left it at that for the decorating to be done by Mrs and kids. Got an 8 footer this year, a Lodgepole pine, have put my back out a little however, Sat/Sun was a right off and still suffering now. Looked quite modest out in the woods but huge in the house.:p

Our lights are integrated into the tree so no probs with knots and twists

Tree will go up on Sunday

I've put up and decorated our tree a couple of times but I'm sure each time that I've gone into the room later and it looked totally different to how I'd left it.

Ours will be going up this Sunday.

Hoping to get away without a tree this year.... Can't be bothered with the hassle!

It's just a couple of days off, meet up with family then back to work. Almost as if the baby jesus never existed at all.....
