putting for birdie and walked off with an 8

Played in the medal today with couple of Mates.

One had a 10 footer for birdie and walked of with an 8...... 6 putts.

Went to tap in a footer knocked two foot past, missed etc, etc.


Ive had the odd 4 putt but never seen a six putt before.

That's not good. My worst was probably a four putt at a par 5, putting for eagle and walked off with a bogey. First hole at Mar Hall.

On Nairn’s greens?

Best greens I’ve played all year.

I have had a 5 putt once, hit a par 3 in one on herons reach but had a 50 foot putt for the first one.

nothing to do with the greens, he was just p'd off about leaving the birdie putt shot and just tried to tap it in, then did the thing with the back of the putter.

If you though the greens were good when you guys were up, they are superb at the moment, so fast. they were stimped 11 on friday. luckily there was some dew about to slow them down a bit when we were out at 9am

Putted off the 13th of Muirfield from the back of the green with the pin on the front.

The ball ran right down the slope and left me with a 40 yard chip back up to the green.
Nearly holed it for what would have been a very strange par.

They were the best when we were up there.

How are the courses up there at the moment, some are starting to “yellow”round here, due to the weather.

I may be coming up again for 1-2 weeks in early August, just waiting for a reply from a cottage for the week 9-16[SUP]th[/SUP] August, then will try to get another cottage for a week, either close by or for on the way.
