OK, I'm currently using an Odyssey 2ball belly putter and it's been a revelation until Sunday! I should have shot somewhere in the region of level par as I hit pretty much every green in regulation but I couldn't do anything but three putt!

Now, I'm not one to change my gear on a whim but I've been practicing with my Wilson Staff 8876 this week and everything about it feels good.

Should I stick with the Odyssey and wait for it to come good or should I swap?

Confused of Bexleyheath.... :D

Having only one putter myself my choice is limited, ie/ grin and bear in until it starts to come right. However, if i had the choice i would swap IF something is feeling right at the time. Putting for me is all about confidence, you can have the best technique in the world but if you are standing over a putt second guessing yourself then that goes out of the window. Im sure down the line you will swap back and forth but does that really matter? I don`t think so as long as you are confident with it at the time.

A change is as good as a rest.

*I spent 2 hours on Wednesday putting with a 1970s (?) Ping A-blade only to accidentally leave it at home when I visited Region3's course on Thursday.*

Keep your old putters I say. Looking down at something different helps me concentrate.

Why did you change to the belly putter?

My putting was appalling (much like Sunday ) and the belly putter gave me loads of confidence and my putting improved dramatically.

Unfortunately, the bad putting returned on Sunday and the belly putter felt awkward and clumsy.

The Wilson feels right in my hands and I've been putting at home and the putts felt good. I've not used it on a green as yet but all the signs are good.

What should I do Bob?

What should I do Bob?

Sunday may have been a one off bad day.
Give it one more try and if it doesn't behave, go back to your Wilson.
If that fails to perform send me a video of your putting stroke and I'll try and help.

You are a wondrous human being and I hope the Lord shines righteously on your balls.

Hi AW, I went to a belly putter from a blade style and found it awesome however yesterday I was pants, lacked confidence and no feel whatsoever. I have put it down to one of those days as had no warm up on putting green and after a couple missed I started to doubt myself whether I would hole anything.

good luck but personally I would persevere

I think I will stick with the belly putter. It knows that it's on the naughty step so I'm hoping it behaves itself otherwise it'll be used to grow runner beans!!!

I'm now wondering whether I should take two putters out with me tomorrow..... :)

I share your pain. Played this morning and nothing felt right on the greens. Couldn't scare the hole at all from any sort of distance and missed a few short ones. Was thinking about using the odyssey #9 tomorrow as a change but the Ping had been behaving lately so not sure what to do either

Been lacking confidence with the putter this weekend, spent 10 mins with my V-Easy in the living room tonight and it fixed my stroke for me, my arms had just gone a bit close to my body and my grip was too much in the fingers!

Well done Bob on a great product, it seems to fix my errors with ease! Its like a putting lesson on demand!

It's what you get used to that's important, if the Wilson feels right now then play it, when it starts to feel wrong go back to the belly putter. You have the option of choice and by what you've wrote, two putters which when they feel right fill you with confidence.

Go with what feels right.

Cheers
Dave
