I was hoping someone in the Windsor area had experience with a putter fitter recently?

I am looking at getting a new putter, but want to get it fit so I know I working with the right lie/ length etc. I am not to bothered about brand (i.e. whatever gets the job done best will go in the bag).

I have seen the Cleveland classic range and like the look and feel, but Cleveland UK don't do putter fittings.

Anyone have any good experiences in the area?

Thanks! :)

Have you contacted the Cleveland fitting centre at Maidenhead Golf Centre? I know Hawkeye got a new putter from Lavender Park and went through some kind of fitting although how technical it was I don't know. If you aren't fusseed about brand, Odyssey are only at Chessington so not too far away and they definitely do fittings across their whole range

Raj, I recently purchased a ping I cradle for this very reason, tried it with all three putters I had and got the same consistent result, my putter was wrong for my stroke.

I took the ping recommendations, then looked at other putters in the same spec, now using a Cleveland vp1 milled and its proving to be a worthwhile move. Lag putting is still a work in progress but from six feet I'm holing almost everything!

First, thanks for the replies.

I rang Cleveland HQ and they said they don't officially fit putters at any centers, not very good in my opinion.

I didn't know Odyssey were in Chessington! Do they do milled face putters? That is the only thing I would definitely like to try after swinging a Cleveland and Scotty with milled face. Either way, I will look into it :)

What is a ping cradle? will have a quick google but personal experience appreciated!

You mean like these. http://intl.odysseygolf.com/global/en-gb/products/putters/protype-tour-series.html I use the #9 and love it. Silvermere have a good range in stock which is relatively local
