Years ago must have been late 70s my older brother and his mate took me to Brands Hatch to watch moterbike racing, we jumped over fences crawled under fences went out gate and got passes to get back in, we must have done it about a dozen times.

Sold passes at half price then jumped over fence again to watch the racing.

After that we stopped off at a pub where they had skittles and it was the first time i saw them.

Can’t remember to much more as I got drunk on our I’ll gotten gains 😂

Still a thriving skittles league in Weymouth. Don’t do it myself but every alley is different to some degree. Usually a room tucked away at the back of the pub or club. Have played a few times on social nights out and it is a good laugh. One of the bowling techniques is called The Dorset Dive.

When I lived and worked in Bristol mid-80s to mid-90s skittles was a quite regular part of out of hours working - for celebrating special occasions for colleagues; social get togethers with partners, and for inter-departmental competitions. Used to really enjoy beer and skittles evenings.
