The only thing I don't like about the Tiger Woods games is that if you can't master anything other than the "3 click system" you are completely fecked as far as distance is concerned.
I go online to play and see some of these gamernet challenges and they have driven the bloody ball over 400 yards, something I can't do with 3 click.

My stats are all fairly low, and my biggest drive so far has been 298 yards, (wind behind me, fairway downhill), but yes, the Longest Drive stats are often silly. One time on a 340 yard hole the Longest Drive was over 440 yards!!!? Plus EVERY SINGLE TIME there's a Closest to the Pin Challenge there's always been a Hole in One. Lot of people play I guess.

I don't use the 3-click system...goes too fast for me, (though I'm sure I could get used to it). I use the left lever, (until I get Move, in which case I'll use that! ) I'm sure when I get my stats to 100% for swing speed and power boost that I'll be hitting well over 300 yards and near to 400 when the conditions are right...it's all about Experience Points isn't it, and getting that perfect stroke.

I've got my power up to about 80% but it won't go any higher than this, no matter how much XP I earn to "buy it".
My longest drive has been just over 350 yards, my average (I guess) is around 310-315. I keep getting XP awarded for drives over 300 yards anyway!
I've played a few online games but the problems come when I'm up against somebody who has 100% power and they are bombing the ball straight onto 380 yard par 4 greens.
Doesn't half make you think about par 3's 'cos often that is the only place you can nick a hole back on them

I don't want to go online and play any-old-one, because as Smiffy says, they'll all be people who spend hours and hours a day on there and with no handicap system it'll be pointless.

I've got most of my stats up to 25-30%, and I did manage a 315 yard drive the other day, (downwind), which was nice, but usually it's 260-290 yards. Getting a bit better at the putting too, but still occasionally put the stick back too much and it goes way past the sweetspot before I panic and flick the stick forward.

What I really can't get the hang of is half-shots. Sometimes all the options for available shot are either way too much or way too little, so I try to do a 70% shot and I just can't do it. Always get over 90% and put it in the crown behind the green. (Mind you, it's quite funny when you hit a spectator!)

When I get within a certain distance, I punch or pitch because just like you I am hopeless at anything other than full or nearly full shots.

My putting is vastly improved but every now and then I get a five footer on a ridiculous slope and I sent it about 20 foot past!
