Project a golf balls

I'm not sure why people are so desperate for more spin. Most amateurs can't control it and very rarely benefit from it. Personally I don't want a ball that stops dead or zips back. Something that spins enough to stop the ball on the green a couple of yards from where it lands is good enough for me.

come on, don't spoil the fun!

next you will be pointing out that most balls that have higher rates of spin for control will also hook and slice a lot worse and have a bigger differential between wind against and wind behind carry distances......:whoo:

I think you should simply focus on how much easier it is to drag the ball left, right and back at will when playing into tight pin positions on fast greens :)

oh i agree, i have little to no idea whether my approach shots will spin back, hold or run on. If I knew they would react the same every time would be nice!

Your talking about(or it seems like) controlling spin from a lob wedge or something from up high spinning back. I like to have more spin on low flat, bouncing 2 or 3 times before stopping pitch or chip shots. Thats not hard to control and is the main reason I use a quality ball when I can.

is that do you think because most amateur players leave their approach shots short rather than long?

No that's because they have not read New Golf Thinking and know you should aim for the yardage to the back of the green.
;)

Actually I have found that to be so useful, and several times I have played a club more than I would normally have done if just aiming for the centre of the green. And guess what, I've only ever hit it to the back of the green once and the rest of the time it has landed on, or at least a lot closer to the green than I would have previously done.
