At last, a decent weekend's golf. I've really been working on my short game recently and it is starting to pay dividends now. Thanks heavens.

Out in 1 over yesterday, having hit an impressive 2 greens! Back in 9 over including a treble. Overall a fairly solid 10 over, 79 which was my first round in the 70s for about 10 years.

Today, in a gale, 9 over par 78 including 2 double bogeys. Driving was solid. Approach play, ok. Pitching, ok. Chipping, Good. Putting, good.

The encouraging thing is that there were several shots left out there and I haven't felt that way with any decent rounds recently. I can see the progress I've made and also where I can improve too.

They weren't medal rounds granted but it still gives me huge encouragement.

Invariably, the light at the end of the tunnel is an oncoming train wreck of a card. But enjoying it while it lasts!

good shooting mate, single handicap rounds, you'll be wearing a sombrero next ;) glad you're enjoying the game, all we hear is how bad things are so great to see happy players.

Few sombrero remarks yesterday and today. But I don't mind. I play in just about every medal I can. Especially pleasing, as both of those making the remarks asked me to team up with them in comps over the next couple of weeks. :)
