Professional Golf 2024 & 2025

Really poor that there is no current live coverage for the Ladies Open at Porthcawl

There is no excuse for it to not be broadcasting now
Sky have been pushing it with loads of adverts about the last major of the year as well.
You would expect coverage of every shot, it’s not like they don’t have enough channels

I get so frustrated with Sky as well.....that segment with Trish Johnson giving a course guide should have been in the preview hour....
They're chatting now about Lottie..again, it's stuff that could have been done already...

Show the goddam golf...there's loads going on and we ain't seeing any of it..... 🤬

Charley Hull having an interesting round. +3 after 3, then 5 birdies in 6 holes around the turn gets her into the top 10 at -2. Currently sitting at +2 again after 4 consecutive bogies.

Well.....I don't think Charley will have a better chance of winning a Major than that...
Few of the bigger names near the top of the leaderboard and 2 over for the last 4 holes was disappointing.
And she was lucky to get away with bogey on 16.
Yamashita held it together pretty well and a good first professional Major for Lottie...

She played the 16th poorly
Can't recall how long but dumped a hybrid in the bunker, played out and then airmailed the flag by 20 yards and rolled off the back.
Her bogey putt just caught enough of the hole.
She'd been in control before that...shame but that's Major golf.

In her post round interview, she said she hit it on that line and the wind didnt touch it. Anyone who has had to pitch up the hill out of that rough will know know tough it is.

Putt from back of 17th was a suprise...

But starting 3 back, she needed the leader to not play as well as she did.😉

Did she play the wrong club, a 3 wood instead of her driver?
She could easily clear the bunker with her driver but tried to play safe and the rest is history.

Completely agree: Tough to accurately pitch out of the rough. Her mistake was laying up in the rough instead of finding the fairway, it was only a wedge out of the bunker. But then of course her first mistake on that hole was finding the fairway bunker. Seemed an odd club choice and reminded me of Adam Scott on the 18th at Lytham. Could have laid up short of the fairway bunker or carried it with driver but chose the club to find it.

Her 5 on 18 was also effectively a dropped shot against the field. She only had an 8 iron in and missed it in the worst place. I guess this can happen when a player is pushing hard to catch the leader. But if she had finished par, par, birdie she would have won.

Arguably Charlie Hull is currently the best golfer without a major.
