Professional Golf 2024 & 2025

Bryson wants to develop irons that go straight all the time, a driver that anyone can hit straight, a ball that always goes straight. I think if he had his way, golf would just be a pure strength contest. It's a very odd attitude to have. I get that people like his tinkering etc, but he's also very quick to blame equipment when it doesn't work.
Maybe that's why I like him, I can relate to it - don't we all want gear we can hit straight? 😂

In fairness, I find it interesting, he obviously brings more speed than anyone's ever brought to competitive golf before, so it makes some sense that suitable equipment didn't exist to start with.

Popular players are good for the sport. They bring in viewers, sponsors, increases uptake at grass roots level. Individually, being popular doesn't help win tournaments but does help earnings through endorsements etc.

At the moment there's only 2 golfers who transcend the sport: Rory and Tiger. I don't think Bryson's got to the stage yet where he is recognised outside of golf.

Another example

BDC was in Ireland - his next event is in Staffordshire this week , so you would expect the LIV players to be just travelling from Ireland to England not too many issues

BDC it seems on Monday has flown to the US for a Film premiere

On the face of it you could think that’s a distraction, but depending on where in the US the premiere is he could quite easily stay on UK time if he’s there for just a few hours.

He will be on a private jet, so sleep won’t be an issue for him in the air.

It was in New York, I saw photos of him standing next to Scottie Scheffler.

Must suck being him 😂

It’s his choice at the end of the day and it’s up to him to juggle things -

They most successful sportsmen or women imo wouldn’t be juggling things - it would be all the focus on the golf

Private planes etc do make things easier these days but it’s time travelling still and something we know they have complained about

BDC may be pleased to have gained a new stalker 😅

Anyway
One of the best courses in the whole of Europe, an amazing place. I got 10 extra shots when I played there, never played a course in better condition or as difficult.

I think most would agree Bryson puts the majority of focus on golf, from what I see he is very focussed on golf and that’s his priority.

After Scottie’s press conference last week you could say his focus isn’t on golf 😂

Think Scottie has a different focus in his life and that’s his family

When it comes to a golf tournament he appears to be fully focused

On multiple occasions I’ve been in the US for work, travelled home to London for the weekend, and then flown back out on Monday. And I didn’t have a private jet.

Open finished on Sunday and Liv doesn’t start until Friday. Plenty of time to go back to the US.

Most of the best players never to win majors list are still competitive at majors.
Niemanns game never seems to show up, he frequently misses cuts and rarely appears in the top 10.

I actually think it might be Hatton. Not so long ago I would've said Hovland but he's still a bit in and out at the moment.
Although of previous players, Monty, Westwood and Stricker all have far better claims in the modern era for the best player never to win a major tag. Almost by definition though, if you’re the best player never to win a major then you’re going to have a string of top 10s and probably a couple of heartbreaking 2nds or playoff losses in majors just like those guys. If you never even got close (like Niemann so far, although very young so plenty of time to completely change that story) then you weren’t that good on the big stage so won’t be in that conversation.

I assumed he meant modern. Fleetwood has a shout to be fair, putting is just his Achilles heel.

For all time I don't think you can look past Monty really.
