Professional Golf 2024 & 2025

The chosen holes for the play off would be a spectacle under floodlights. I’m amazed they don’t think to have them in place. Could also utilise them in the pro-am and practice days to run some content at nighttime.

Surely a floodlit play off is better than a Monday finish?
Doesnt happen that often to warrant it.

The Players is reported to have the best field of all the tournaments. Is that what you call a "poor bunch of players"?
If that motley crew in the chasing pack is the best field in the world I'm done. He barely beat bud cauley and correy Connors, how does anyone really expect him to win a major?!

It would literally cost a few grand in hire charges to have the floodlights on site ready to go.
A few grand? Literally? Year after year just in case would be hundreds of thousands of dollars wasted.

It’s not just a couple of temporary site lamps is it?

It might work for some second tier events or tours. But finishing arguably the biggest non-major event under any type of floodlights would be silly, using temporary hire floodlights is so comical that it can’t be a genuine suggestion.

But the rest of the Top Ten in the OWGR were also behind Rory so did they bottle it? Have they got no chance in the Majors?

Would you consider Hovland and Fitzpatrick to be Kornfery level or would they be more suited to the Southern California Pro circuit ?

I would expect either of them to get the job done with a lead of 3 shots over JJ Spaun.

Innovation in golf. How very dare we…

I suspect Rory McIlroy wronged Bobthesock at some point in the past, in a very hurtful and humiliating way. Thus, I can almost understand his immature analysis of McIlroy's performance this week, such hurt makes it difficult to think rationally.
Lol... Yeah Rory must've done something in the past... Maybe ruined a good coupon or similar..
I think it's fair to say Rory isn't Bob's cup of tea....
I get that, I've got a mate who doesn't like him either.. He doesn't go out of his way to constantly construct a 'bottler' narrative though.

Innovation, really 🤣. A typical non answer as expected.

Do you have any idea what the requirements for floodlighting those three holes to the required standards would be?
Even if temporary portable lighting could be hired. How long would it take to set up?

Like I said, great for resort courses and smaller events.

Now if you’d said they should have a retractable weather proof dome to protect from the weather, that would be innovative.

Tbh, a 3 hole playoff at 1300 on Monday sounds perfect to me.
Better than midnight Sunday. What's not to like??
I won't get to watch it, as I'm at work :(

Guessing it isn't great for the younger fans and adults with 9-5 jobs in the US. Is better for those that are retired, or not working/schooling at that time.

However, c'est la vie. They tried their best by starting mega early, and the weather just can't be controlled.

Although I'm half expecting Mel Smooth to suggest they should build a moveable roof over the course, just in case. I'm sure it'll only cost a few thousand :ROFLMAO:

About 500 dollars a unit to hire, only needed if weather delays are a risk, minutes to set up.

What’s the cost of a delayed finish?
Floodlit golf is now innovation, is it?

Utilising to finish a PGAT event on time absolutely would be
