Pro V1x

Not impressed with noodles, don't know why, they just don't excel at anything.

Forgot Cally make balls. Not tried their new ones, but all the old ones without exception are too clickey. Actually, I found a big bertha the other day, and for putting this was ok, but rubbish for anything else. Would like to try the new ones, but no one at my track is losing any.

Used to like Kasco 66, but not rockets (first 4 piece golf ball).

I have tried the bridgestone version of the ProV1x, which was clickey (the cardinal sin of golf balls), but haven't tried their ProV1 version. My mate plays with them, but won't lend me one. Tight B.

Note: a lot of these balls would be fine if I putted with an inserted putter, but off a steel face, no.

As I found a Noodle last night, I'm looking forward to the 300yd drive, Never has one before but we shall see . . .

I normally throw them in the practice bag, but 300 yards with a 3 wood off them is impressive, I shall test them out tomorrow and see if I can get 330 yards with a driver with it.

Just one of those 1/100 shots. I was absolutely creaming the ball on the day in question, it was hot outside which also helps the ball fly.

To put it in perspective I played with a 15y/o 2 handicapper in our 4-ball on sunday, I only outdrove the lad once, his best was a 340yd drive, albeit slightly downhill on the 14th but what a drive. Unbelievable.

It must be something in the water down in Kent.

I can see that I am going to be the midget hitter tomorrow. I know my place. Just have to hope my putting makes up for it.

I will admit that the Maxfli noodle is very under rated- for value golf balls there is nothing better. They do everything you would expect them too for the money you pay. I bought 100 A grade noodles that were not lake balls (just balls that are found in the rough etc) to use as my practice balls, the only trouble is no where has the titleist shag bag I want in stock so I haven't been able to use them yet. I think they are more than sufficient to be used in this instance though (for practice) as I wouldn't even mind using one on the course if I was out of TX4s, Pro vs, ZUR Cs etc.

Noodle ice are terrible to look at, and indifferent to play with. They also come in different colours which is just wrong. What is the point of a green golf ball?

I use prov1 and 1x and I haven't found a ball as good, yet.
Incidently there is a once hit new one in the river ribble, adjacent to the 10th tee ;).
I do quite like the Dx2, TP black and srixon trispeed but overall performance is Pro v's

Probably sitting quite close to my AD333 Vig :D

Just to add another suggestion into the debate, I can also recommend the Inesis TD Tour. These are made by a French company and are only sold through Decathlon sports stores. The problem is that there are only about half a dozen of these stores in the country.

They play very much like a ProVx but only cost £17.00 a dozen. If it were not for the 60 mile round trip to the nearest stockist I would use them all the time.

If anyone gets a chance to try some I would thoroughly recommend that you give them a go.

The Callaway Tour Ix is nice. It seems to go like a rocket off the driver and feels great around the greens - does cut up a bit but since I've stopped using extra sharp wedges they seem to be a lot better. Not tried the Tour i.

i just got myself 5 dozen bridgstone b330-s as i tried the b330 and the b330s models and prefer the softer one the best ball i ever played just love their slightly lower ball flight

One make of ball I can not use, and that is Callaway, I started with Warbirds but tried them all now and they are pretty useless imo, but then again so is my game at times lol.
