Found a Pro V1 yesterday in a bit of a tatty condition.

On the last hole, I was 185 yards from the green. Pulled out my hybrid and hit my Nike PD soft ball 20 yards short and 20 yards right of the green. Decent strike though.

Then, dropped the Pro V1 in the same spot and hit it with the same club. Same swing, same decent strike.

Result: Pin high 15 feet from the pin.

Tell me it wasn't the ball which caused the better result. Please!

shot 1. week slice
shot 2. relaxed swish at the ball as it had no bearing on your score.

I previously used the Titleist DT roll and NXT tour balls. These were good balls and I was getting some good results.

However when in my club shop I bought a bottle of juice and a mars bar. Sadly I only had a £20 and the boy did not have much change. I decided to buy a sleeve of prov1 balls which helped me and him out as I did not end up with a pocket full of 10p's

I went out on the course and played 2 balls that round (it was dead) and I had an amazing round. I was getting about 10-20 yards more roll on the balls and my putting was a lot better. Half way around the course I decided to swap the ProV1 for a DT roll ball. Hit it off the tee and it was like smacking my driver off a tree. The ball was solid and was 30 yards behind the pro v1. Similar shot and both landed on the fairway.

As said previously, they are amazing around the green for control. I now play comps with them, and the occasional bounce game I use the older balls. My friend who uses the TM Lethal balls recommends the Bridgestone e5'S as a good alternative and he uses them for bounce games. At £14.99 a dozen its good money

I must be one of the few golfers who doesn't like the ProV1 or ProV1x. I just don't like putting with them. Far too soft with no response or feel off my putter face.

Plus, I can't get a ball to stop dead/spin back on a green with any sort of regularity anyway. Not even a ProV1! Once I get this new swing grooved though... ;)

I'd agree with guest100718 also - more relaxed, perhaps.

It wasn't the ball, it was that you had just had a practice shot.
How often are provisional shots better than the first?

You're not alone - I can't putt a ProV (only a little better with a Callaway).
