My CT8 with an XL battery is only 2 years old and hasn’t been used very much. I have 2 batteries and one turned itself on and I can’t turn it off. It’s fully charged tho. I took the cover off and disconnected the on off switch and the green light stayed off, but several hours later it was back on. Disassembled it again and disconnected the circuit board and used electrical contact cleaner on it. Again the light stayed off for several hours before turning itself back on. The other battery is fine telling me the trolly is fine and the charger is working properly. 4 messages to Powakaddy and only 1 reply asking if the trolly worked. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I can't answer your question in the way you probably want, but apart from the light being off, what difference does it matter?
My Motocaddy just has a lead and connector off the battery, and only draws power when plugged into the trolley and used. I don't really think having an on/off switch will make your battery last any longer than one without, so as I doubt PK are going to offer anything other than you buying a new battery I wouldnt worry about it. That's what I would do if it were me :)

By taking apart the battery you prob have limited what PK will offer you as it invalidates any warranty

I don't know what purpose the light actually serves, I doubt it drains much but could leave it on for a week and then see if it's lost any charge

I don't care about the light itself but I am concerned if has a BMS and it's telling me the battery might burst into flames.

Leave it out in the backyard for a week and see if it burns up? If not, it's okay.
Hint: don't leave your bag and clubs on it!

Perhaps if you were that worried about the battery catching fire you wouldn’t have tampered with it:)
As far as I have seen, it’s charging that is when dodgy lithium batteries catching fire.
If it were mine, I would leave it standing for a couple of weeks and see how the battery charge is after that. I would imagine it will be fine.
I doubt though that PK will replace the battery tbh though, if they come back to you that is.:)

Don’t really believe it’s tampering. 6 screws to open it and the plugs are right there, easy to unplug. But I can see how they would say the warranty is void. In saying that what company does stand behind their products.
