Hi all , i'm looking at getting a new trolley bag before the winter arrives. Now I know there aren't any fully waterproof bags out there but I wondered what these Powakaddy pvc bags were like. They look like the water should just run off them.

Anyone out there with first hand info about how they manage in the wet ? Any probs with owning one like stitching coming away or pockets getting holes in them etc ? Do they keep the shafts nicely spaced or do they jumble together ?

Many thanks for any replies ;)

JD, I have one and find it great, plenty of pockets and a 14 way club divider, have used it the last few weekends where it has rained and no prob at all,the one being sold in the for sale section looks great btw....

Jammy,
Without wishing to go into full "sell" mode I have to say that if it wasn't for the boot of the new car being designed by a miniscule Frog I wouldn't be getting rid of it. It's about as waterproof as you can get, rain just bounces of it.
The dividers are fine, no problem at all, the pockets - well there's loads and a specific dry pocket too. It's been in some heavy rain and nothing inside's got wet.
The brolley pit is a bit strange - it's basically a slot in the rain hood tht unzips and there it is. The brolley pit is behind the main dividers but if you're not using a brolley you can use it for the driver.
External putter pit too.
The rain hood is a bit inflexible but doesn't take an age to get on and off.
Good bag - heavy but good.

Want it? :D

Exactly my problem stitching burst all the way round one of the pockets and at the carry handles without wanting to piss on Imurgs parade, worst. bag. ever.

Seems like my bag is identical to Imurg's. I have played a lot of golf over the past year and the bag is still 100% intact. As Imurg says, plenty of pockets, ideal for someone like me who sometimes spends all day at the course and needs the extras to carry all the catering. Totally recommend it.

I have had mine since Xmas and the only thing to go wrong is the the pull thing on one of the zips has fallen off, otherwise no complaints

Just ordered 1 at my local DG as I have had 3 Taylormade cart bags in 12 months!!!!!! I am sure even a tesco carrier bag is better then a Taylormade bag!!!!!

Like mine, zips struggle a bit when you really load the gear pockets.

Mine totally waterproof and no complaints.

Others around me hate them.

Don't think they're being made anymore.

Hope this helps.

Same for me. Overall a good bag in the wet but I'm not convinced that the brolly storage is good design. If you put a wet brolly in there after rain clears I think it leaks down into the clubs and the top of the handles get a bit wet. Just have to get as much water off the brolly as possible first. Another point is that the powakaddy bags fit on the cart without twisting which is a great feature.
