Has anyone got any experience of Plusnet broadband? I've just changed my phone and t'internet over to them, cheaper than my current sky set up.

Have I made a boo boo or are all these things roughly the same anyway????

:D

Just kidding :)

I've been with them for years (nearly 10). never had a problem and they have always been happy to try and reduce my bills etc whenever I've rung up. I have my phone line, calls and broadband with them.

Champion stuff, thats what I was looking for, someone who is a happy customer.

Cheers.

Plusnet are a pretty good set up, been going for years

To be honest, the service you get is a lottery

Everything depends on the BT infrastructure and if it goes wrong its pot luck if you get a helpful intelligent person or the end or a total plank.

talktalk are the worst, virgin are the best in terms of complaints per 1000 customers

Plusnet are no nonsense and good value, so go for it and good luck

I certainly dont have to call their helplines often for customers

more than happy - though I have looked around to see if i can get cheaper, sky etc? However, by the time i add line rental, caller id etc to the packs I find that most companies are all about the same price. Every now and then I ask them for a new router, which they send for free as long as I stay for another year.

Really good customer service too.

Don't choose your broadband provider on price! There are usually two reasons they can offer you service so cheap:

1. They outsource all of their call-centre functions to Mumbai and the like
2. They buy in as little capacity (bandwidth) as possible which means when everyone is on at peak times you may as well access your sites via carrier pigeon.

In certain circumstances, the bundled deals can be worth a look (sky, etc), but you need to check that they have put their own kit into the exchanges first, otherwise it will end up costing you more.

For my own recommendation, if you're willing to spend a bit more for quality I would go with Zen Internet - all of their staff know what they are doing (and are in the UK!) and if there are any problems, they are not going to try & blame BT just to get you off the phone.

I'm with Plusnet, they are owned by BT by the way. No problems to speak of in 10 years and get 40mbps as I am on their BT infinity type service (fibre to the cabinet).

Just waiting to upgrade to the fiber service but I have been with them over a year and would recommend them. You can get cheaper but not with the same level of service.

Started with the Pro package. The speeds and connectivity were excellent but the 20Gb limit made it poor for sky player etc. Switch to the 60Gb limit and haven't even come close since.

Download limits are usually something that will put of people but from 12mn to 7am there is no limits. It also help maintain a better level service. I have always received consistent speed since signing up. No peak time slow downs etc.
