Playoffs - daft gimmick

Nope....the exact opposite.
The introduction of the Championship with the new SPFL coinciding with the relegation of Rangers/Hearts/Hibs/Dundee Utd has spread wealth and made a much more competitive league [ex Celtic of course]
New improved grounds at Tynecastle and Easter Road resulting in 18/20,000 home games and a new stadium being built at Aberdeen.

Crowds at record levels, don't let facts get in the way of your lazy thinking.

Trouble is record levels are still pretty low.

The Big Two get attendances comparable with the bigger clubs in the EPL.

The remainder see crowds equal to smaller Championship clubs in England.

The result of this is a further distortion in the relative finances which, these days, are sadly so important.

Yup, the play-offs are underway up north with Livvy/Utd fighting for a chance to get to the final which if they won, might be worth at most 3-4 million next year (but probably less)
In England the play off final winners will benefit to the tune of 100 million+... and its not gate money

Well money isn't everthing and has probably spoiled football - great club sides like Red Star Belgrade, Ajax, Steaua Bucharest, Dinamo Kiev, Sparta Prague, St Etienne, Celtic etc will never get close to European Cup now, massively outspent by diddy garbage like Bournemouth or Burnley. Ultimately all clubs are now just feeder clubs to 7 or 8 wealthiest sides in Europe with 2 Spanish clubs and maybe Man City/PSG taking who they want. Can't build a side, best players gone in little over one season.

Not a reason to knock football in the many smaller leagues across Europe.

Burnley and Bournemouth “diddy garbage” ?!

In regards Burnley they were winning leagues back in 1960’s and also getting into European cup quarters - they along with Bournemouth have worked themselves up from the lower leagues to be in the Premier League - they have worked hard to get where they are and not just about money. Not really right to dismiss them both so disrespectfully

And clubs from behind the iron curtain changed the minute their respective countries changed into democracy and their players could move to play to the major clubs in Europe and also the systematic doping within those countries stopped.

There is a lot more reasons for clubs mentioned changing than money - and Ajax and Celtic had no issues being part of the move to the CL.

I love the playoffs!

My mob have reached the Premiership after sneaking into the last spot on at least two occasions

Nor any reason to refer to clubs such as Burnley and Bournemouth as diddy garbage.

If that were true where would it leave Hearts, Hibs, Aberdeen etc;
