Played Niddry Castle GC today.

Thought it was a lovely course, it has 2 different 9 holes as it was once only a 9 holer. The first 7 and last 2 are from the original course and the others were added on, i must say some of the old holes were i thought fantastic especially the 7th, and the 17th very tricky hole and i did a Van De Velt at the water BUT i got my ball out .
Thoroughly enjoyed it and will be back there in 2 weeks to play their Open.
The other 9 did seem very bare as the trees are still small but should look good in say 40 years time !

For over forty years I lived within four miles of Niddry Castle and I never went near it let alone played it. Perhaps I missed out on something!

I played there as a wee junior, it was only a 9 hole course then. The old course is great, the new side is boring. IMO. I hated the 3rd as a junior, i lost so many balls over the wall on the railway. Just remember to buy golf insurance before playing. lol
