What is it about Birkdale? Rob and I were drowned on the 1st green in October and are back in March. S&A day before too!
Anytime you're up the M3 and fancy a game I'm happy to have a knock. May even chuck lunch inDecided to become a fair weather nomadic golfer so looking forward to playing some new courses once the sun comes back out.
Got myself a new bike so going to be getting the miles in with a view to entering some vets events possibly later this year.
Concert wise the kids got me a ticket for War of the Worlds at th O2 which I'm massively excited for, and I'm taking my daughter to see Jack Savoretti in april which will be her first proper gig so really looking forward to that
Aaaah..... I guess I have a lot of things yet to discover about these courtesies though mainly looking forward to the EG Captains Events. We have Cleveland & Sandmoor this side of the hill in 2022. May see you there.. Happy New Year & all the best. Thanks I would love to if the dates work, although I will be playing there regardless in the Lancs Ladies championship which is being held there in 2022/
I thought Birkdale only gave Captains courtesy if they were playing with 3 people who were paying green fees
I am unsure about courtesies but someone told me about Birkdale.Aaaah..... About 2,850km...! ?HID was 50 in October so want to arrange a large party for her but also to go away together somewhere. Looking at cruise down the Danube but that could be a long way down the line at the moment
I’m booked to go 1st week of March, delayed from last year, fingers crossed it happens as all bought all new gear for the 2019 trip and need to get some value out of it!I really want to go skiing again, got cancelled 24 hours before departure in 2019, never on the radar last winter and have a date in mind for March but can't see it happening.
Two night stay at Glencoe booked for next week, fingers crossed it still goes ahead and if it does me and the little boy WILL be sledging
Yeah... hoping for both for me & the same at Cleveland & possibly Envers, though I think the latter will be well over subscribed.I am unsure about courtesies but someone told me about Birkdale.
I am looking at Sandmoor for Seniors or Captains
I understand that Burnhope Seat is the highest point in historic county Durham. I'll aim for that one as I know that Mickle Fell might be closed because of firing.Whilst my home County has an abundance of wild fell sides to roam, other than Cross Fell, few will be visited by other than 'Peak-baggers'. Both Mickle & Burnhope Seat are very much in that category. Few folk would know about the former as being the highest in both Yorkshire & Durham (has been in both of course) so is always a great conversation piece as well as a very wet & boggy place.
It's nearly 14 years since I completed all the Nuttalls (440 two thousand footers) in England and Wales to become a completer.Has anyone on here summited Mickle??
I have also been there. It's on the Pennine Way, but again my memory is a bit blurred so I'd like to go there again. If you decide to stay up overnight then I'd suggest a visit to High-cup Nick from Dufton. Not a 'Top' but certainly one of the best day-walks in that area.
That would be Little Fell that you're thinking of.... deep in the Firing-range. I think we did it on a Boxing Day some 15 years ago...... memorable only 'cos you had to watch where you walked as there was lots of debris that you certainly didn't touch.I understand that Burnhope Seat is the highest point in historic county Durham. As for Yorkshire I'll try for the highest points in the 4 counties rather than the 3 Ridings.
As for Cheshire it used to be the case that Black Hill was the highest until the borders changed. Cheshire is now Shining Tor and Black Hill is West Yorkshire.

Is Mickle Hill on Warcop Fell the one with the locked gate and firing range? I remember going up it but can't remember much about it.
Interesting feedback. Thank you. That would be Little Fell that you're thinking of.... deep in the Firing-range. I think we did it on a Boxing Day some 15 years ago...... memorable only 'cos you had to watch where you walked as there was lots of debris that you certainly didn't touch.
...
I never completed the Nuttalls as I wasn't that bothered but several of the team did.
Good luck to you on your County Tops project.
